Applications are now open for the 2026–27 Tacoma Public Schools Student School Board Representative Program.

This is an exciting opportunity for current 10th and 11th grade students to serve as student leaders representing the voices, experiences, and perspectives of students across TPS.

Student School Board representatives work directly with district leadership and the Tacoma School Board to:

• Participate in school board meetings
• Share student perspectives and ideas
• Collaborate with student leaders from across the district
• Learn how public education leadership and governance operate
• Build leadership, communication and professional skills

In addition, this opportunity qualifies as a Jobs 253 internship experience, allowing selected students to earn work-based learning hours and receive a stipend while serving in this important leadership role.

We are looking for students who:

• Care about improving schools and supporting students
• Demonstrate leadership potential
• Are willing to listen, collaborate and communicate respectfully
• Want to make a positive impact in Tacoma Public Schools

Apply by May 31 at Tacoma Public School Student School Board Representative Application. 

Selected Student School Board Representatives will be introduced at the Sept. 10, 2026, School Board meeting.
